Santa Barbara, CA — [August 31, 2010] — Maps101 has added 200 new titles to its existing collection of National Geographic short videos. The online, cross curricular K-12 resource now holds over 550 stunning videos, covering a variety of topics suitable for classroom use.

Maps101 subscribers can search for National Geographic videos by location, or browse through four categories — Civilizations & History, Culture & Society, Science & Nature and Wildlife. Locations relevant to the video are included on an interactive map, with pan and zoom features. Users searching Maps101's featured Bing Map Explorer will also find relevant National Geographic videos in search results.

New video additions cover a variety of diverse insights into culture, events and natural phenomena from every corner of the globe — from Texas longhorn cattle to tornadoes, from barbershop quartets to bull riding.

"In a recent teacher survey we found that teachers regarded multimedia as a key resource for engaging students both in the classroom and after school," reveals Maps101 CEO Sarah Sinclair. "National Geographic provides our subscribers with some of the finest video footage available. The videos are concise but extremely informative, and a great way to begin debate within the classroom," she continued.

To ease integration with curriculums, Maps101 has also provided teachers with a quick-reference text list of all available video titles. Samples of the National Geographic video shorts can be seen at the Maps101 Facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/maps101 and on YouTube at http://www.youtube.com/user/Maps101channel
