MAPS101 ANNOUNCES APPOINTMENT OF NEW SALES DIRECTOR

Santa Barbara, CA — [March 27, 2008] — Maps101, the leading subscription-based Web site providing K-12 teachers, librarians and students with access to an extensive collection of maps, atlases, lesson plans and other resources for use in geography, history, social studies and earth science classes, today announced the hiring of Loraine Klotz as National Sales Director.

"Loraine is an important addition to the Maps101 team," says John Serpa, President of Maps.com, the parent company of Maps101. "With over 3,500 schools already subscribed to Maps101, we have a proven track record of providing K-12 schools with the best web-based geography service available, and Loraine brings a wealth of experience that will help us reach even more schools." Klotz was previously the Southwest Area Sales Manager for the Social Studies Division of Nystrom, the Herff-Jones Education Company.

The hiring of Klotz marks the return of Maps.com's direct sales efforts of Maps101 after a two-year exclusive distribution relationship with Nystrom.

"For the past several years," says Klotz, "I have watched, first-hand, the huge movement by schools toward utilizing digital educational resources. Not only is this a cost-effective way to enhance classroom instruction in the face of education budget cuts, but most importantly, it provides teachers and their students with the most up-to-date, accurate and diversified educational information available. Maps101 is easily accessible and extremely user-friendly. I am very excited to have the opportunity to sell and supervise this product."

Klotz has a number of enhancement ideas and expansion goals for Maps101. "First on my 'To Do' list," says Klotz, "is to make sure that our current subscribers are receiving the best service and support possible by providing ongoing teacher training that will help them discover the vast amount of valuable information available to them and their students through Maps101. And of course," she continues," I will be introducing more school districts and their schools to Maps101. A subscription provides unlimited access, both at the school site and remotely, to a resource that can be used for multiple grade levels and across academic disciplines.

Born and raised in south Texas, Klotz earned her BA in Women's Studies at the University of California, Irvine. She enjoys traveling and experiencing different cultures, as well as spending time with family and friends.
