Veterans Day — Honors all of the brave men and women who have served in the United States armed forces unlike Memorial Day which honors all of those fallen, Veterans’ Day honors all of those who have served in times of peace and war. It was originally called Armistice Day but congress decided to change the name to Veteran’s day to honor those fallen in the World War II and Korean War.
When are you celebrating Thanksgiving Day? — Depending on which part of North America you live in you might have already celebrated. Thanksgiving Day already passed if you live in Canada which celebrates it on the second Monday of October, if you live in the United States you can expect to be celebrating on the third Thursday of November which falls on the 22nd this year.

November is national American Indian Heritage Month — It’s dedicated to honor the custom and traditions of the American Indians, and Alaskan natives. Its main purpose is to honor the original people of this land.

November 8th, 1900 — Pulitzer prize winning author Margaret Mitchell was born in Atlanta, Georgia. The daughter of a prominent lawyer she wrote the book Gone with the Wind for which she won the Pulitzer price in 1937.
November 17th 1800 — United States congress meets for the first time in the new capital city of Washington D.C. President Adams occupies the Executive Mansion which is now known as the White House.
November 22nd 1963 — The 35th United States President, John Fitzgerald Kennedy was fatally shot while travelling in a motorcade through downtown Dallas, Texas. The shooter was Harvey Lee Oswald who also shot then Texas Governor John B. Connally who was riding alongside the president and first lady.
