In the Spotlight: New Content
This summer and fall, we will be adding extensive new material to Maps101. For starters, we have just added fun new jigsaw puzzles, crosswords, and word searches in the Learn & Play section. In July, we'll be adding self-paced training videos. Look for animated timeline maps, interactive K-3 materials, new games, and more coming soon!
Maps101 in Your Classroom
Justin Jefferies Lovelace of Park Hills Elementary in Gaffney, SC, uses Maps101 for an interactive lesson on the Middle Ages. "I pasted World History Maps into an ACTIV Flipchart, allowing students to examine and mark the maps. They determined which kingdoms grew into today's countries, recreated maps from our text, and traced why the Black Death spread through Europe so quickly. As the students worked with the maps, they could share ideas, debate topics, and reach higher order thinking skills through discussion with each other and myself." How have you used Maps101 in your classroom? Tell us, and we'll give you a FREE U.S. wall map for sharing. The most creative entry will be featured in the July newsletter. Click here to enter.

If you are attending NECC in San Antonio, June 29-July 2, be sure to stop by the Maps101 booth, #762. We'll be giving away a Promethean whiteboard, and unveiling exciting additions to Maps101.
